A Doll a Day in April: Day 15 - Little Miss Perfekta

Today's doll is my childhood doll, Little Miss, a Perfketa doll.

I made her a wardrobe of clothes back in 2016 as up until then she didn't have any!

She went back to NZ with me a number of years ago now.
She is such a sweet happy little doll.

Happy Valentines Day

A few of the smaller girls have dressed up for Valentines Day

We have: Hitty Madge, Kiwi Sindy, Little Miss, Was Willow, but now waiting on a name change, Lili, Wren, Now Willow, Nancy and Nancy Ann Storybook who is either called, He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, or Queen of Hearts. Personally I think she should be called 'Love Letters'.

All the dolls are wearing dresses made by me, except, Nancy, and 'Love Letters'

Advent 2021 - Day Seven: Little Miss' Turn

It is a wild, windy and rainy day today and rather dark inside.

Today it the turn of Little Miss, my childhood Perfekta doll, to open the window.

Wren asks her if she is excited.

Of course she is!

They look for the number seven,

and Wren spots it and points to it.

It's up in the top corner, she says.

Rose picks Little Miss up so she can open the window.

She holds her carefully.

It is a big window!

Little Miss needed Rose's help to take out the item.

It is the star for the top of the stable!

Isn't this little Nativity Scene looking good so far.

What fun they are having.

The Dolls' Advent Calendar Challenge - Day Five

Day Five:  Little Miss Perfekta

This little doll is from my childhood.  I can't remember when I got her, but I know it would have been before the age of six.  She featured a few years ago when I finally made her a little wardrobe of clothes after she had been stored for many years without any clothing.  Not sure what happened to her original clothing as I can't remember her having any!

She was one of the dolls that suffered the fate of the dreaded little sister scribbles.  Fortunately my Mum was able to get all the pen marks off, but unfortunately in the process her hair became very frizzy and resembles a 'brillo pad'.

I can't remember what I called her, so she became 'Little Miss'.

Perfekta Dolls

'Little Miss' my childhood Perfekta doll has gathered some friends over the last year and I thought it was about time I wrote a post featuring them.  Of course at this time of year the light is atrocious, so getting decent photos is rather hit and miss, mostly miss, so these following pictures will just have to do until we get better light.  I have tried doing searches to find out more information on these dolls but found very little.  Almost all searches just come up with Pinterest links now, and I am still not really sure how that works.  I did find one page dedicated to them, and you can see some more of their original outfits here.

These two brunettes are in original outfits and one pair of original shoes.  The girl on the left has a 'pony tail' hair style whereas the girl to the right has a full centre parting and so can wear her hair in bunches or pigtails, depending on what terminology you are used to.

These two also have original dresses on and fortunately one also has original shoes - I wish I could find some more shoes, or even shoes that fit!  The blonde has a centre part and probably wore her hair in braids (plaits) from what I have been able to find out, but her hair has been trimmed.  The little girl in the purple outfit has lovely soft hair in a bob style.

I think this is also probably an original outfit, but not entirely sure.  Her hair is a little better than my girl, it is not quite as 'woollen'

Little Miss, my childhood doll in clothes I made for her a couple of years ago now.

These little dolls are from the late sixties early seventies and five inches tall.  I may have had more when I was young as I very vaguely remember giving some dolls away when we had to move, but I am not sure if it was these dolls or not.  I certainly kept one if I did have others.

Thankful Thursday

Little Miss is thankful she has a special friend just like her and was even more thankful that she came to play today.

They were also thankful that the day was nice and they could go out into the garden.

Summing up the Sewing & Knitting of the Week.

Quite a productive week on the knitting and sewing front.

A dress and yellow 'Mary Jane' shoes for Tui

Plus a navy pair of shoes.

A shawl and a hat for Hitty Madge

A new dress

I also finished this one that had been waiting quite some time for snaps to be sewn on.

Madeline of course got her two new swimsuits, which she was wearing in this post here.

A pretty summer dress

A dress with some of my left over variegated NZ wool.

Plus a purple lacy dress.

I also used the above pattern to make Little Miss a dress.

I knitted a little cardigan and hat for Poppy

It matches the dress I made a few weeks ago.

Lastly I made Peggy Sue a summer dress.  It seems ages since I did any sewing so it was good to have a some time on Saturday to do some, which is when I also made the dresses for Hitty Madge and Madeline shown above.

I doubt I will  have any time for sewing this week, but probably will be able to get some knitting done in the evenings.  I have a KAL I am joining in on and hoping to make a start on that tomorrow evening.
