A Little Get Together at the Seaside

Thursday morning we spent a couple of hours with some friends down at the beach.

Perhaps it is time to move on to someone else, and leave them to their discussions...

Henry came too, this must be one of the first outings he has done in a very long time.

I think he enjoyed himself...well at least until a little later...

Wow! An Exciting Parcel.

Wow!  I didn't realise just how long it had been since I last blogged.  I am going to try and blog more this year...but no promises.  

My lovely husband has been spoiling me...

This huge box arrived last week, and no it is not a dolls house, of which that hobby has been occupying me quite extensively the last year or so.  

Instead, inside we have SIX Makies tubes.

with SIX Makie dolls inside for me to dress and develop characters for.

Three boys - they won't necessarily be keeping the wigs they are wearing.

and three girls.

I have temporarily dressed the girls in some of Wren's clothes...shhhh don't tell her, she doesn't know yet.

To say I am absolutely thrilled is an understatement and I am so very grateful for the lovely lady who sold them to me and for my lovely husband for buying them for me.  Thank you both so very much.

I am looking forward to finding out what their little characters are, and how they fit in with the rest of the Makies here on Makie Island. 

Celebrating the Queen's Life

Wren's best friend Jerica from Market Harborough has come to stay for a few days

The girls decided that instead of mourning the Queen's death, that they would instead celebrate her life with a morning tea party.

Joined by Kiwi Sindy and of course Paddington Bear, a well known friend of the Queen.

They enjoyed a cuppa, with a biscuit and the sounds of nature and the fountain behind them.

Whether you are a Royalist or not, Queen Elizabeth II has to be admired for the life of service she gave to her country, the Commonwealth and the World.  Just as she said on her 21st birthday, she dedicated her whole life to doing exactly that.  

 

Postcard Swap - Wren receives her fifth card.

Wren was excited to receive her fifth card in the post this morning.

She loves the vintage look of the card.

Who is it from?

It is from her friend Sindy Shiloh.  

She loves the Christmas stamp and smiley faces.

Postcard Swap - Wren writes some more cards.

Having opened up her Postcard Swap to blogging friends and those on IG, Wren has been busy writing out more cards.

Last week she wrote out three and posted those...

Just put the postcards through the slot.

She now knows that at least two have arrived.

This is another card she has chosen to write and she posted this one at the beginning of the week

Off she goes to the post office again.  

She is so pleased it is just up the road from where we live.

Today she sits down and writes out two more.

These are the two she has chosen from her visit to the Needles last month.  

She is keeping it a surprise as to who she has sent them to, until she knows they have arrived.

 

Wandering with Wren - Wildheart Animal Sanctuary

On Thursday Wren went to the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary in Sandown.

She headed straight over to see the lions.

These lions were rescued from circuses where they were neutered early and had their claws removed, so they don't have manes.

She enjoyed watching the lions.

Next up she went to see the meerkats

On lookout.

This place looked interesting...

She learnt about P.L.U.T.O  Pipeline under the ocean.

As well as some history of the D Day Landings.

So always something to learn, and not just about the wonderful animals that this sanctuary has rescued and given homes to.
