100 Days of Martha the Elephant's World

Day One:  Martha found a suitable case to make into a little room for herself.  The floor isn't laid yet, but she likes the look of it.

She has a pumpkin ready for Autumn.  Don't wish away the summer Martha!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Two:  It was very hot today at over 32 degrees Celsius so Martha tried climbing a tree to keep out of the heat.   She is wearing her new dress.
A new basket has been made for Martha to collect berries, and other things in.  She has one strawberry so far.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Three: Martha went out strawberry picking and found three big fat strawberries for her basket.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Four:  Martha's cactus has brown beyond her wildest expectations.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Five:  Today we worked on her room.  The floor was laid and the back wall was papered.  I found a coaster I made pre-teenage years and she is going to use it as a table.

A teacup, saucer, and a couple of plates were made.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Six:  Martha went out for dinner with the family, and was tempted by the gambling machine...she didn't get to go on it though as we explained it is basically just throwing your money away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Seven:  Martha is supervising the making of Maude, elephant number three.  She isn't convinced yet that it is really going to be an elephant just like her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Eight:  Martha borrowed an apron this morning and helped to pick the Victoria plums to make some jam with them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Nine:  Martha admires one of the roses in our rose garden and is wearing her new dress.

Some little flower 'pegs' were made to eventually be turned into a peg rail for her to hang her clothes on.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Ten:  Martha worked on her coat pegs today.  Now she has to work out how to fix them to the wall and also has to make some coat hangers!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Eleven: Martha says goodbye to her sisters who are on their way to New Zealand.

Maude and Mavis are off to New Zealand.  I have made them as gifts for my sister and my Mum.

Martha wanted a group shot with Mavis and Maude but then realised she had a different dress on....

...so she changed into her matching dress.

Martha, Mavis and Maude.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Twelve:  Martha made some coat hangers today for her clothes and hung her coat peg rail...I did suggest she used a spirit level, but she assured me she could get it level just by looking at it...hmmmm....sure thing Martha!  She also put a picture of her, Mavis and Maude in a frame.
You can find how I made the coat hangers by clicking here:  Making Coat hangers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Thirteen:  Martha had a quiet day today, and snuggled with her little cat (who is yet to be named)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Fourteen:  Martha baked some scones for afternoon tea.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Fifteen:  Martha wore her new cardigan outside when she visited the pretty marigolds as it was a little chilly this morning.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Sixteen:  Martha has been making name necklaces today.  She made one for herself and one for her new penpal in the USA.  She just needs to finish her letter now and then she can post it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Seventeen:  Martha gave up on her chair/sofa making today and opted for a stroll in the garden instead.  It was much more calming.

She is wearing a new dress.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Eighteen:    Martha is making sure my clarinet is ready for band rehearsal this evening.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Nineteen:  Martha had planned on going up the road today to have her photo taken in front of the flowers in a beautiful garden but we got side tracked with other activities.  Instead she wanted to show off the second of her two pumpkins made with the £1 orange yarn we got the other day from Hobbycraft.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Twenty:  Martha had her photo taken in the beautiful front garden of a house up the road from us.  It is a really beautiful day today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Twenty-One:  Does this match my dress?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Twenty-Two: Martha has been busy helping me most of the afternoon.  We've been knitting and crafting in the sunshine.  What a fabulous day it has been.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Twenty-Three:  Martha has chosen the yarn she wants her chair made from.  Just as well I had this colour as she wanted one 'the same colour as the picture'.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Twenty-four:  Martha isn't exactly sure what to make of Noddy but I think they did have a jolly good conversation out in the sunshine today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Twenty-Five:  Martha visited Wrest Park today and thought it was lovely.  Another gorgeous day with fabulous blue sky.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Twenty-Six:  Martha loved the Celebration and Dahlia Gardens today at Ayletts Nursery in St Albans.  She wore her new dress and admired all the flowers as she strolled round in the sunshine.  What a gorgeous day indeed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Twenty-Seven:  Conkers!  Martha found some conkers while out walking this morning.  Sadly the council have cut down a lot of our lovely local Horse Chestnut and Oak Trees in the last year due to it being cheaper to cut them down than to maintain them!  It is criminal.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Twenty-Eight:  Martha was delighted to discover the little purple flowers in the alpine and succulent garden were blooming.  Another stunning day so making the most of it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Twenty-Nine:  Martha is wearing her new cardigan and has added a pine cone to her Autumnal Nature tray.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
30/100:  Martha isn't convinced this chair is going to be big enough for her...the jury is still out as to whether to continue and just see who it will be suitable for or to frog it and start again.  First 30 days of this challenge completed!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
31/100:  Martha goes visiting with her friend Alice today.  I think they enjoyed catching up on all the local elephant gossip.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Thirty-Two:  Martha is helping to make a wooden bed.  She thinks if she helps make this one she will then be able to put in a request for one for her as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Thirty-Three: Martha watches on as progress is made on the bed.  She is secretly pleased that this first bed isn't for her as it is somewhat 'wonky'.  She is sure that the next one made will be much better.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Thirty-Four:  Martha shows Clipper the new bed.  They both agree it is starting to look more like a bed now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Thirty-Five:  "I think this will do nicely" ... Martha thinks as she inspects a cauldron she has just found...as long as who it doesn't belong to doesn't miss it!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Thirty-Six:  Martha was pleased to find a green pumpkin, they are far better to cook with than the orange ones and make nice soup..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Thirty-Seven:  Martha thinks it is pretty cool to wear green.  She approves of her new dress.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Thirty-Eight: Is this supposed to be a hint Martha?  Yes I know you were told you look good in green, but you might have to wait before I knit you another green dress.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Thirty-Nine:  Martha has been out collecting more conkers.  She also has another pumpkin!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Forty:  Martha likes this fabric I ordered for her.  Now to think what to make with it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Forty-One:  Martha gets cuddles from Peggy Sue.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Forty-two:  Aw snuggly, sleepy Martha
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Forty-three:  Martha helped wrap the presents for our younger son's birthday today.  She is wearing her glittery dress.
