A Doll A Day in April: Day 18 - Hitty Madge

Hitty Madge is today's doll of the day.  She has been one of my main travel companions since I carved her back in 2012 I think it was.  She has a special travel pouch I made to keep her safe in my bag.

She is wearing a lovely knitted cardigan by a friend of mine who used to live in NZ, but now lives in Portugal.  She has hardly taken it off since she received it a number of years ago.

Happy Valentines Day

A few of the smaller girls have dressed up for Valentines Day

We have: Hitty Madge, Kiwi Sindy, Little Miss, Was Willow, but now waiting on a name change, Lili, Wren, Now Willow, Nancy and Nancy Ann Storybook who is either called, He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, or Queen of Hearts. Personally I think she should be called 'Love Letters'.

All the dolls are wearing dresses made by me, except, Nancy, and 'Love Letters'

Advent 2023 - Day Eighteen

Summer asked Hitty Madge to help her open the calendar today and of course Hitty Madge was delighted.

The look for the door and Hitty Madge points to it.

They open it up and have a look at what they found behind the little door

Oh what is that?

It is a baking sheet with cookies on it!

Yum yum

Hitty Madge puts them on the little counter.

and the baker moves them to the oven.

Well that was fun girls, the little scene is coming on nicely.

Advent 2021 - Day Fifteen

Hitty Madge was so excited to open the calendar that we forgot to take photos until the end!

Uh oh....

Hitty Madge found a little pony behind the door today and was delighted.

They look so sweet.

What a lovely time they are having.

The Wooden Girls Dressed for Spring/Easter

Hazel, Peggy Sue, Hitty Madge and Hitty Morag are now dressed in yellow too.
All the dresses were made by me.

Peggy Sue loves her yellow gingham dress with lace trim.

Hazel is wearing her smart yellow dress

Both Hitty dolls were hand-carved by me.

Advent 2019 - Day 16

My Hittys don't generally feature on this blog as they have their own blog (Hitty at Rose Cottage) but the three sisters wanted a turn at opening the calendar today.

Hitty Morage suggested to Hitty Mildred and Hitty Madge that they have a turn at opening the Advent Calendar today.  Of course they thought that was a great idea.

They study the Calendar and hope that today's door is not too high up as they didn't fancy having to scale heights like the babies did!

Luckily for them it wasn't and Hitty Madge is given the honours of opening the door.

It is quite a big door so they were rather excited as to what could be inside.

They were delighted to find a Reindeer - although Hitty Mildred looks like something has distracted her in the distance.

They lead the reindeer to the snowy scene and introduce the others.

The reindeer looks quite at home!

Something on Saturday

The strangest things can happen during the night....

I discovered this in the morning when I got up.

Looks like someone has a new love interest!

Seems like AM who was bought (£1 local CS) to be purely a boot donor for AM Dennis, has not only found a love interest, but also a pair of trainers!  I guess that means he is staying.

While out today...

Scarily the Christmas displays are out in full force.

Saturday morning!

Another fully reversible coat with soft needle cord with embroidered flowers on the outside and pretty liberty floral print on the inside.

So a very productive month and good start to February, although 'real life' will now have to intervene and my creative endeavours will have to focus on much more mundane stuff, some house work, sorting, and preparing for my trip to NZ instead!
