Henry's Will

Emily comes across Henry sitting at the table writing studiously.

What are you writing Henry?  She asks.

Henry looks up. My last will and testament.

What on earth for Henry?  Asks Emily stunned by his response.

Well I'm going away for major head surgery on Wednesday.  He tells her...

Emily rushes off to find Peggy Sue and Rory.

Do you know what Henry is doing?  She asks them.

What?  Rory asks.

He is writing his last will and testament.  Emily replies.

What?? Cries Peggy Sue aghast!

But we can't have that!  Peggy Sues says.

I know. Replies Emily. What shall we do about it?

Talk to him.  Rory suggests.

Yes, good idea.  I think we are going to have to take him in hand.  Emily tells them.

Now Henry, what's this I hear about you writing your Will.  Peggy Sue asks gently.

Well I am going to have to aren't I?  Replies Henry.  I'm going in for major major surgery on my head.  What if I am never the same again.

What do you mean major surgery?  Rory asks.

I'm having NEW HAIR.  Henry tells him.

Oh that isn't surgery!  Rory exclaims.  I've had that done.  Look at me, I'm okay!

Peggy Sue looks at Rory...

Yes Rory.  Henry replies, but you didn't have to have major major surgery to have new hair now did you?

Um... I guess not.  Rory agrees.

Oh Henry, you will always be our Dear Henry.  Emily reassures him.

Look, I'm going to have to have big sharp needles poked into my head hundreds  perhaps THOUSANDS of times!

Ouch! They all think as they look at Henry's head.

I mean, just look at the state of my head, and this is only the back.  The sides are just as bad.

His friends do think he has a point...it has got to desperate measures.

I'm sure it won't be that bad.  Emily reassures him.

I had to go into surgery last year....or was it this year?  and have surgery on my arms!

Still not quite the same Henry thinks as he looks at Emily.  At least no one was sticking needles into your head!

The children do their best to reassure him, that all WILL be well.

Emily gives him a big hug.

Emily gives him a hug and whispers something into his ear, while Rory gives him a pat on the shoulder.

Poor Henry is very anxious...but I am sure he will love getting back to his adventures again in the future.

  2. Oh dear! Poor dear Henry. Even I hadn't realised that things had got so bad with only seeing him from the front.
Remember Henry when your Sasha Brood friend Ross flew over to Spain and had exactly the same procedure... and look how this changed his life for the better.

    1. Oh yes, it has got pretty bad, which is why he hasn't been seen a lot...I had been doing a lot of 'cloning' of his hair for photographs!
The biggest thing for Henry is not to have his looks changed too much. But he is excited about having new adventures.

  3. Henry, the surgeon is really really good at her job and you won’t feel anything because she will give you something called an anaesthetic to make you sleep while the surgery takes place. When you wake up again you will feel a bit woozy at first but you will soon feel okay again. Having new hair will be fabulous - just think - no need to wear hats unless you want to wear a hat!

  5. Don't worry Henry. I'm sure your surgeon will give you a local anesthetic during the procedure, and you won't feel a thing. An handsome lad like yourself deserves a full head of hair!
