Elizabeth

Elizabeth has decided she has had enough of nursing...she has been in her uniform and on her feet for it seems like several years now... she had thought it was just a temporary post caring for Emily when she lost her arm, but the job seemed to go on and on and on...

She can't wait to get out of it!

Ah, that is better.

She looks happier and fresher already.

Yeah, another girl dressed for Spring/Easter.

Weekend Dressmaking

I am having so much fun making clothes for Rose.

She was just what I needed to inspire my mojo into sewing again.

Strapless top made from a sock and the skirt made from a cut down child's outfit.

Rose looks good in everything!

I made her a long summery dress.

I am not entirely happy with the bodice, I think I need wider seam allowances next time.

The Wooden Girls Dressed for Spring/Easter

Hazel, Peggy Sue, Hitty Madge and Hitty Morag are now dressed in yellow too.
All the dresses were made by me.

Peggy Sue loves her yellow gingham dress with lace trim.

Hazel is wearing her smart yellow dress

Hitty Madge and Hitty Morag in their yellow dresses made by myself.
Both Hitty dolls were hand-carved by me.

Some More Dressmaking for Rose

I caught Rose just as she was about to eat her sandwich... she is wearing the new t shirt I have made her.

I'm reasonably pleased with how it turned out, although the fabric was a bit too thin for my liking, but I am using what I have to hand.

I also made her some leggings...

...which are a nice fit.

Next I made her a skirt.

Front view.

Back view.

I'm really enjoying making things for her.

So pretty.

Next I made her a hoodie...but realised I didn't have any open ended zips apart from one short dark green one.  The hoodie is in turquoise, and the zipper wasn't long enough, so that has been put aside for now until I can get a zipper for it.  Fortunately I did have some dark green fleece so I made a shorter green hoodie so I could use the green zipper I had.

This will keep her nice and warm.

On a whole pretty pleased with how it turned out, although would make the sleeves shorter next time.

The Eclectic Company

A few of my dolls have been getting dressed for Easter & Spring.

The first four are my childhood dolls....although Tressy and Kiwi Sindy are replacements as my original Tressy got lost during one of our moves when I was a child and my Sindy was given away by my Mum.  Skipper and Barbie are my original dolls...slightly worse for wear, but very much loved.  Tressy and Barbie have on clothing that my Mum made, so they are very special and very much of the era they were made.  Skipper is wearing one of the original outfits she came with, although I am not sure it is an actual original Skipper outfit.  Definitely vintage though!  Kiwi Sindy (named as I found her in a charity shop in New Zealand in 2019.  I like to imagine she is my original, although I know she isn't as my original older than her.) is wearing a dress I made a couple of years ago.

The jointed gals...all waving hello.

Roshni, my Madame Alexander Travel Friend Doll, Helen, my Blythe doll, Wren, my Makie and a Simone, Disney doll I found in a charity shop.

The littlies... Sharlyn, named after my bestest friend, Little Gem, Madeline, and Little Dawn, a Tiny Betsy Doll and of course Nancy with her little bear.

All of them together.

Some Clothes for Rose

Just chillin' in her sleeveless top I made her and her cord jeans.

Working...on what I am not sure, but I have been reassured she was working and not browsing shops!

But then these arrived....

Some gorgeous clothes from Bella's Doll Clothes.

I do agree Rose, that t shirt goes perfectly with your cords.

A lovely fit.

With Rose being her name, she of course had to have a dress with roses on it.

She looks gorgeous in it I think.

A bumblebee dress was also needed as flowers need bees to pollinate.

Such a lovely cheerful dress.

Pretty in yellow on this lovely afternoon.
