Let's Meet the Triplets.

I am really enjoying my American Girl Dolls at the moment.  There is something very comforting about them.  Of course that also means I regret selling most of my collection a few years ago, but does mean I can buy some new to me dolls.   These three below all came at bargain prices as they were TLC dolls.  I think they have cleaned up so nicely and look great with their new dresses I knitted for them. I think of them as the triplets as they are similar, but different.

Alice, confident, Amy a bit of a dreamer and April oh so sweet.

Two are number thirteens, one an earlier PC one who is also the tallest, and one is a number 19.

April was the first to arrive, she is very pretty with her green eyes.  She came with her ears pierced. April is a JLY No. 19

Amy arrived next with a wonderful bundle of clothing and accessories.

She is the sweetest little girl, a bit of a dreamer.

Next up we have Alice a JLY No. 13, confident Alice who needed a bit of work to tidy her up when she arrived.

She is an older Pleasant Company doll and also a JLY No. 13 like Amy. You can see she has what is called 'pie bangs' which is different from Amy's fringe.  She is wearing a dress knitted from the same yarn I made Amy's dress from.

A Doll a Day in April: Day Eight - Crissy

Well I hadn't planned on Crissy being my doll for today, but I finished a dress last night and it didn't fit the doll I had planned for it, so I thought I would try it on Crissy and it fits great.  So she is a happy girl to have a new dress.

She just needs some shoes now!

Some Clothes for Rose

Just chillin' in her sleeveless top I made her and her cord jeans.

Working...on what I am not sure, but I have been reassured she was working and not browsing shops!

But then these arrived....

Some gorgeous clothes from Bella's Doll Clothes.

I do agree Rose, that t shirt goes perfectly with your cords.

A lovely fit.

With Rose being her name, she of course had to have a dress with roses on it.

She looks gorgeous in it I think.

A bumblebee dress was also needed as flowers need bees to pollinate.

Such a lovely cheerful dress.

Pretty in yellow on this lovely afternoon.

Sewing for my Smart Doll

Knowing that I'll probably never be able to justify buying original Smart Doll clothing, at least not new, and especially if I am going to have to add custom fees to the purchase, I decided to try and make my own clothes for her with Danny's very generous free patterns that he offers on the Smart Doll website.  Now these patterns don't come with any instructions, so you have to know how to sew and how to put them together!

On a whole I am really pleased with my first attempt at making her some jeans/trousers using needle cord fabric that I had in my stash.  I actually didn't have many fabrics suitable at all to make jeans/trousers with and wasn't sure how this material would work, but actually it worked fine.

Rose looks really pleased with them as well.

They have working front pockets, including an extra little pocket on the left side (right side looking at picture)

The back fits quite nicely for my first attempt at this pattern.

I might not have got the pockets straight...I thought I did, it may be the way she is standing, I'll have to take extra care next time.

I also knitted her this little top.

Bright Orange Hair!

A second Paola Reina doll has joined the Rose Cottage Friends.

She came in plastic package with little shorts and t shirt.

Here she is just let free.

Plastic hair band removed - she has really lovely soft hair.

I knitted a little dress last night with some of the left over sock yarn from the last pair of socks I made.  I was pretty sure the greens would go well with her bright orange hair and I am pleased with the look, although I have in mind to make her a steam-punk type outfit.  Not that I really have any idea how to go about this, but that is my thoughts at the moment, so we will see.

I think she has the same face mold as Oona Faith, I will have to take  a photo of them together at some stage, but I was so excited that she arrived this morning, I wanted to write a short blog post welcoming her straight away.  I've called her Orla Hope

Edited to add photo with Oona Faith.

Knitting for Oona Faith

What better to do on cold evenings and days but to sit in front of the fire and knit.

I made this fun little dress for Oona Faith with some left over sock yarn I had.

I think she looks really cute in it.

I also knitted her a little cardigan, as it is of course cold here at the moment.

I have another dress almost finished.

I hope to do a post in the next couple of days showing various clothes that fit from other types of dolls.

Creative Week 25

Another Creative Week is over and I have made quite a few things, knitting, sewing, crochet and even some wood carving.

I added socks to Lewis' Sweater and Cap set.

Already shown are the two sweaters I knitted for Dennis AM.

Some pumpkins

A blanket for Clipper's bed as it is getting much colder.

Some TRD knitting:

Some TRD sewing:

I also made three witches' hats for the TRDs or other small dolls, one of which is on its way to a friend.

I also did some work on Hitty WIP who has been in the works for quite a long time now!

Still quite a bit of work to be done on her yet, but she is getting there.
