Accident and Emergency?

Tragedy struck Emily while she was out today visiting friends...

There has been much wailing, sobbing and crying and Henry is trying his best to console her.

There there Emily, I am sure we will be able to find someone who can fix you....  Henry murmurs as she sobs on his shoulder.

But I'll need a specialist, she wails...  and it HURTS....

I am sure it does, but I am sure we can sort you out... Henry tries to reassure her.

Poor Emily and poor Henry, who is worried as it is not a simple case of just 'hooking the arm back on'  He has seen the inside of her arm and quite frankly he felt all queasy and faint...but didn't want Emily to know and so has put on a brave face for her.

  1. Oh dear! That really is distressing! I'm afraid Daddy Steve gets a bit queasy about these things too. Human blood doesn't bother me in the least, but seeing my boys in anything but one piece is more than I can handle. Tell everyone not to fear. I'm sure Emily can be fixed up as good as new. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

  2. OMGoodness! What happened?! It's a good job Henry has a calm head and can help Emily overcome the shock. The poor lamb :( I hope all will be well very soon. Sending hugs, Emily x

    1. I'm not sure, I just picked her up and her arm fell off! It looks like the joint part(?) is broken...the arm is different to the Trendon dolls so I am not sure. I am sure hoping I can find someone who can fix her.

  3. oh, no!! Is there a specialist in the UK who does that sort of work? Yes, I wouldn't be able to look either, Perhaps give her an aspirin for the pain?

    1. I hope so! I have sent an email to Brenda who restrung her back in 2012 at the Sasha Festival and hoping she will be able to fix her for me - but it is not just a case of reconnecting the elastics... so rather worried. Emily is one of my 'main' girls and Henry's original travelling companion.

  5. Oh no! I hope Brenda can help Emily. Has the joint in the arm broken? I don't know what the inside of a Gotz arm looks like.

  6. Poor Emily! The early Götz dolls had cardboard ovals on their arm hooks that were pushed into the arms, so it probably can be replaced. But I think it's a very fiddly job.
