80th Anniversary of VE Day

Rose Cottage Friends celebrated the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.

It was very gentile with tea and cakes.

Peggy Sue is having a conversation with April, whilst Saige and Henry look on.

The twins have been serving the tea.

At the little table we have Bowie, Kiwi Sindy, Marie and Wren.

Lindsey and Chrissy are having a good chat too.

Something has caught Saige's attention.

I think they are having a lovely afternoon in the sun.

The twins wonder if anyone needs a top up.

Little Saffron sits with Chrissy, she is the smallest member of the party today.

A Doll A Day for April: Day Two - Chrissa/Chrissy

Chrissa or as I call her Chrissy is a Girl of the Year American Girl from 2009.
She is wearing a dress I knitted 12 years ago.

I changed her into something brighter for the spring, another knitted dress.

She is so cute.

November 1st!

All the Halloween costumes, props and decorations have now been packed away for another year and the girls have changed into other clothing.   It is so difficult to get decent photographs at this time of year when it is so dull and dark both inside and out.

Just a little group gathering while I sorted out their shelf.

New Year's Eve Pyjama Party

How better to spend New Year's Eve than with friends.

A fairly simple event this year, they have already gobbled up all the food and are chatting before settling down to watch a movie.

Everlee and Nisha are deep in conversation

Someone has fallen asleep already!  Dorothy is resting up on Chrissy's lap.

Perhaps she is going to wake just before midnight?

Some lively discussion about what to watch.

Sienna Saige chats to Peggy Sue

Looks like I caught Anne-Marie's eye when I sneaked up to take these photos of them.

Will they all make it to midnight or will more fall asleep like Dorothy?

Fashion on Friday

Not much to show this week, just three dresses.

I have sorted through a pile of fabric though and found some pieces for a couple of upcoming projects though that I am quite excited about.  Hoping I might get a chance to start on them this weekend.

Chrissy is wearing a dress I test knitted the pattern, once the pattern is available I will try and remember to upload the link to it.  It is a pretty pattern and has some lovely variations to it.

A variation of a style of dress I have enjoyed knitting for the American Girl dolls over the years - a straighter, pleated skirt similar in style to the skirt on the dresses I have knitted for Hazel my Bleuette doll.

I am really pleased with how this dress turned out.

I also knitted a dress for Peggy Sue as it is getting colder and she wanted something with long sleeves.

This is the last of my knitting for a while as I am having such problems with pain, not while knitting as such, but I am wondering if it isn't helping me doing the knitting, so will  try and rest them for a few weeks...although it seems really odd as I am so used to knitting in the evening as it is my 'distraction' from the pain - if that makes sense?!

Meet the 'Spencer' Girls & their Friends

Christina Spencer, otherwise known as Chrissy, and her little sister Noelle.

Chrissy has two best friends, Sunita and Tara and they like to do quite a few things together.

Noelle's two best friends are Clara and Kimmi.

Like all little girls they get up to a lot of mischief together, and spend a lot of time giggling.

Clara has an older sister.

Her name is Sienna Saige.

Clara is hoping Sienna will meet her friend's older sister Chrissy and her friends, as Sienna goes to a different school to the other girls and often feels a little lonely outside of school time.

Kimmi also has an older sister.

Kimmi's older sister is Nisha

Chrissy, Noelle, Kimmi and Clara model my clothing that I make that isn't for Sasha dolls, this can keep them busy although sometimes they get a bit miffed that they often don't get to keep the clothes they model!
