Advent 2023 - Day Twenty Four: Christmas Eve!

Christmas Eve and the Rose Hip Chicks are going to do a Christmas Performance...

They have had to sack their wardrobe crew though as their special Christmas waistcoats didn't get made...

So instead they had to borrow some for the Gregor lads.  Just as well!  Perhaps next year they will get ones to match their skirts and t shirts?

So they gather round to find the last door of the Calendar

They find a pretty Christmas tree behind the door.

The perfect end for the calendar

Thank you girls, I am sure we are going to enjoy your Christmas Carol concert later tonight.

Well that is the last of the Advent Calendar openings for this year.  I am not sure if I am going to do them anymore.  I have been doing them for twelve years now on my blogs since 2012,  starting on my 'Sewing for Sasha' blog, and I'm just not sure the interest in them is there anymore like it was at the beginning.  I think also I might have moved on from wanting to do them, it is a lot of work.  We will just have to wait and see what next year brings.

We wish all our friends a wonderful Christmas.

A Sasha Morning - Sasha Girls.

I've spent a few hours with the Sasha girls today.  Helping them decide what they want to wear, and what their various roles are.  Some of the girls will remain 'in character' and others will take part in more day to day life/active roles.

The Rose Hip Chicks have two new members.  Molly and Stevie left the group as they couldn't stand the hectic schedule they were leading, and so Cora and Ziva have joined the group...they are currently on trial to see how they get on. (Previously seen at the Music Festival here:  A Summer Music Festival)

They just need to sort out their instruments now...although primarily a vocal group, they do like to add a bit of instrumentation or percussion to their sound.

Emily is wearing one of her favourite dresses she got at one of the USA Sasha Festivals.  I see she has her hand caught in the ribbon in these two photos!  Molly, who found music life most stressful in part due to her age, is relieved to not be in the limelight and has happily chosen one of the first dresses I made to wear.  It is always a firm favourite amongst the girls.

Charlotte and Erica Michelle, represent Mini Me and my Sister in dresses I modelled on identical dresses my mother made for my sister and I in the very early seventies.   I made these for one of the Sasha Festival Dress a Sasha competitions.

Sally is wearing one of the school uniforms I made for the first Sasha Festival I went to in the UK at Stratford Upon Avon in 2012.

Alice is wearing one of the farm girl outfits I made quite a few years ago now.

Stevie, also relieved not to be involved in the band (despite her namesake!) has gone back to wearing her beloved favourite outfit.  Can you tell she likes shades of purple?!

Sophia is my model, and is currently just wearing a sensible warm dress.

Everlee Rose, who is one of the girls who will be playing a more active role in Rose Cottage Life, is wearing a jumper/sweater I knitted a few years ago and a skirt that we got from one of the Sasha events in the UK.

Summer, ever hopeful that the season summer is approaching (despite the weather!) is wearing a New Zealand themed dress I made featuring Kowhai flowers.

They've now gone back on their shelves.

Not the best photos, I might try with my other camera later, and if better, will replace these photos.

Orange Challenge 2019 - Day Two: Ziva

Day Two features the sultry Ziva sporting her lovely Kiwiana dress I made earlier this year.  The flowers are NZ Kowhai flowers.

Shall we have a Valentine's Day Party?

We should have a Valentine's Day Party.  Ziva suggests to the other girls

We could, replies Cora, but the trouble is Mum says she doesn't know where all the decorations are.

We could make our own.  Ziva  suggests.

Or we could try and find them Cora says.

As long as we don't make a mess Mum says.  Peggy Sue tells the girls.  Apparently she is soooo busy this week trying to tidy up everything and get things ready for her trip to NZ next week.

I might know where they are.  Emily tells them.  Shall I go and have a look.

Please do!  The girls tell her.

Advent 2018 - Day Nine

Hey there Ziva, how are you doing?

I'm great Maddison, how's you?

Looking forward to Christmas!

So, the days seem to be going by so quickly.  Where is today's little window?

Aha, here it is.

Ooh, ahh, what is this?

Not sure I like the look of this!

I'll put it on the table...

...but it doesn't look cooked to me.

Pretty gross don't you think?

Enough to want to make you a vegetarian, I reckon.

Glad Emily cooks better than this!

Yup, that is a good thing.  I hope she is going to cook our Christmas Dinner this year.

Advent 2018 - Day Six

Ziva finds Bonnie playing with the Advent scene.

Bonnie asks her if she is going to open a little window today.

Ziva tells her she would like to very much.

Bonnie points to the calendar.

Ziva looks at the Calendar trying to find number six.

It doesn't take her long.

She shows the little package to Bonnie who is looking eagerly to see what is inside it.

They are delighted to discover it is a little Christmas Tree.

Ziva holds it out for Bonnie to have a closer look.

Ziva places it in the ballroom.

It is starting to look good.

They chat with each other for a while, having a giggle about how they both chose similar dresses to wear.

Ziva proudly poses for her Christmas photo.
