Advent 2017 - Day Twenty Four: Christmas Eve.

I think you should open the Calendar today Peggy Sue.  Henry tells her.

Oh are you sure?  Peggy Sue asks.

Absolutely.  Henry replies.

Peggy Sue looks for the final door.

It is in this top corner. She says.

Peggy Sue opens the door.

Goodness, I wonder what this is?  Peggy Sue says.

Oh open it please Peggy Sue.  I can't stand the suspense!  Henry tells her.

Oh my goodness!  Peggy Sue gasps.

Look, it is a ghost pirate!

I think he must go down here.  Peggy Sue says as she puts him on the rocks in front of the cave.

The scene is complete!  The pirate actually glows....IF we had known we needed to triple A batteries.  So we will have to show that after Christmas now!

The gang wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Advent 2017 - Day Twenty Three

Hi Henry, can little Oliver William open the Calendar today please?  Lewis asks Henry.

Of course he can.  Henry replies.

Here you go Oliver William.  Henry says as he holds his arm around little Oliver's shoulders.  Do you know what to do?

Oliver William does indeed and is delighted to find a very large door to open for today.

Wow, just look at the size of these double doors.  He exclaims as he opens them.

He pulls out the little gift while the boys watch.

It is like a magic rock.  He tells them.  It has a button on it.

I wonder what that is for?  Henry says.

I'm going to put it here at the entrance of the cave.  Oliver William tells them.

This is just where it is supposed to be.

It was THIS big!  He tells Lewis.

It WAS Henry.  I'm going to tell the other boys how big my gift was...

and off he toddles.

Advent 2017 - Day Twenty Two

So Connor, I am guessing you are going to open the door today?  Gwilym asks.

Yes, I am indeed.  Connor replies.

Connor looks for door number twenty two, while James and Gwilym look on.

Aha!  Here it is.  Says Connor as he opens the door.

He reaches in...

and pulls out the package.

Looks like treasure to me.  He tells James.

Yes treasure!

Gosh jewels AND coins.  Gwilym says as the boys look at what Conor is holding.

Right, they can go down here...

Connor puts the coins and jewels down on the little scene.

What a busy island it is.  Connor says as the boys look at it.

It is certainly busy!

Advent 2017 - Day Twenty One

I am going to open the Advent Calendar today.  Says James in a very authoritative voice.

Sure of course you can.  Connor says.

Donny doesn't dare argue with the twins, so is just happy to watch.

Hmmm....now where is it?  James says.

Aha, here it is up here.  He reaches up and opens the door.

It looks like he will need two hands for today's gift.

A treasure chest!  He shows the boys.

Looks better now the lid is on it.  Donny remarks.

James and Connor agree with him.

It can go down here.  He says as he puts it down.

Uh oh, looks like the snake has made itself a new home!

Advent 2017 - Day Twenty

Rory and Edward were startled by a noise near or was it 'in' the Advent Calendar this morning.

What do you think it might be?  Rory asks Edward.

I'm not sure.  Edward replies.  Shall we have a look?

I'm not sure.  Rory says cautiously.  What if it is something scary?

Oh I hadn't thought of that.  Edward says.  But hey, it is an Advent calendar, surely it can't be anything scary.

Okay, well perhaps you could open the window today
. Rory suggests.

Sure thing. Edward says as he looks for the door for today.

In his rush, he almost trips over, but he has found it.

I can definitely hear some rustling.  He says as he opens the door.

Look, the bag is moving!  He shows Rory.

Goodness...is that what I think it is inside? Rory asks.

Within what seemed like seconds, it surely was what Rory thought it might be

Rats!  Albeit small ones fortunately.

They seemed to be everywhere.

They are crawling up you.  Rory says as Edward looks at his hand in surprise.

Quickly Edward puts them down on the little Island scene, hoping they will stay there.

Well that was a bit of excitement wasn't it Edward?  Rory asks.

It most certainly was. Edward replies.  Wouldn't it have been funny if the littlies had opened this door when they went a bit mad the other day.

Ha ha, it would have been...but then maybe not, we might have ended up with rats and mice all over the house.  Rory says.

The rats seem to be making themselves at home very quickly.

I still think I prefer frogs.  Rory tells Edward.
