A Wet Week in Devon.

Are you sure you can see over the steering wheel Madeline?

Day One - a lovely sunny afternoon...

Madeline enjoys stacking rocks at Westward Ho!

Appledore on a lovely Sunday afternoon.

Anchors Aweigh.

Day Two:  Grey, Wet and Foggy...

although it cleared up for about an hour...

Hippo came as well.

Fortunately Madeline was prepared for the rain!

Day Three:  Wet again

Indoor adventures at Watermouth Castle.

This chap didn't mind being wet!

Henry blogged about his day at Watermouth Castle here.

Day Four:  Wet!

Day Five - Overcast with some sun - seems Madeline didn't venture out on this day instead it was a day for the dogs to enjoy some time on the beach at Woolacombe.

Day Six - Sunny!    Yippee!  Of course it was typical for our last day to be sunny!  A visit to Lynton & Lynmouth.

Madeline wasn't sure she was going to trust the weather though and as it was a little chilly she kept her coat on for the first part of the day.

Wonderful views from Lyton down to Lynmouth

Finally it was warm by late afternoon.

Madeline enjoyed a walk to Watersmeet.

  1. I love the pictures of Madeline in her rain wear. I must say though that I would feel safer with Hitty Madge behind the wheel of the car!

  2. How wonderful! Madeline looks so sunny in her yellow sou'wester, mac and boots!! I used to live in both Dorset then Somerset, so we would go sightseeing all over Dorset, Devon and Cornwall. We visited Lynton and Lynmouth many times, so beautiful! We have just come back from a holiday to the Isle of Wight :) xx

    1. Thank you! How lovely you used to live in both Dorset and then Somerset. Do you miss those places? Glad you also had a lovely week away.

    2. Yes, I do miss the south coast so much. We lived there for about 12 years, but had to come back 'home' when Mum's health deteriorated and Dad was finding it to hard to cope alone. Now we will stay up here near Dad x

  4. Seems Madeline enjoyed herself a lot, and she was well equipped for the weather - those sweet yellow boots are definitely made for walking. Love her rain coat and umbrella!

  5. Such fabulous backgrounds! I love how some of Madeline's photos emphasize how small she is - those are too cute! :)

    1. So glad you enjoyed the photos. Yes Madeline is quite small, she is 8 inches tall, which she insists is a 'big girl' but I just give her a smile back and say of course.

  6. I always enjoy your travel photos - places I'll probably never see in person but at least I can enjoy thanks to your excellent photography. I think Madeline looks well-dressed and good thing she thought ahead to bring the Macintosh and brolly. I have to ask, is the man in a bathtub or a soup pot???

    1. Now that is the question isn't it?!! I think he has been sitting in that bathtub for so long now that it does resemble a soup pot! ;-)

Henry posted about his day out as well, although he only got out for one day.

      Glad you enjoyed the photographs.

  7. Looks like a wonderfully adventurous Devon holiday in spite of the changeable weather.
Was very impressed by that tower of free standing large pebbles!
