Sasha - Mary Ellen

Today we have Mary Ellen, my lovely 1969 Dungarees girl.  

She is so pretty.

Rory looks for Tadpoles.

He is really looking forward to having some frogs this year.

He was surprised to fin Henry already at the pond.

Rory sees if he can count them, but admits there are too many.

We only topped up the pond a few days ago, it almost looks like it needs yet more water, it has been so warm the last couple of weeks.

The boys enjoy sitting beside the pond chatting away about this and that.

They are fortunate they have each other's company.

Sasha - Meredith

Meredith doesn't tend to get changed very often as she just loves this outfit so much.  The dress was made by my friend Norvell and I won it at the first USA Sasha Festival I went to.   The jacket was made by Karen W, and is a perfect match.

Not the most flattering of photos I have taken of Meredith unfortunately.

She has been with me for quite a number of years now.

Monday Yellow and Blues.

Daisy Spring enjoyed some time out in the garden today.  

She also spent some time with me on my favourite seat while I sat and read while having a cuppa.

Bellamy's wanderings weren't so solitary today...but he was in our garden so that was okay.

Howard said if you have a view of the sea, then you HAVE to have nautical trousers...

So of course I obliged.

Hmmm...what are these creatures he wonders?!

Bailey and Felix enjoyed some time out on the grass overseen by Howard.

Sasha - Summer

I'm going to try and make an effort to take a photo or two of at least one of my Sasha Family a day for this week...to start with anyway.

First up is Summer who has been with me a couple of years now I think it is.  She is wearing a dress I made a few years ago using New Zealand fabric with a Kowhai print.  I did show a picture of her wearing this back in February, when she was optimistic the weather would improve...she had to wait awhile, but it was perfect warm weather today.

Sunny Sunday

Bellamy enjoyed his early morning beach thoughts...

The sun was shining and the sea was beautiful.

Kiwi Sindy thought it was high time she changed out of her winter woolies.

She found a nice spring dress to wear that matched her red boots as she still wanted to wear them.

She looks rather contemplative sitting there...

A wee bit lonely I think.

Bellamy & Tiny Rag Dolls

Bellamy's Solitary Wanderings did take him to the bay again today, but he wanted his photo taken in our garden instead today... so naturally I obliged.

I finished one of the tiny rag dolls yesterday and popped her through my neighbours letter box.  I got a lovely phone call in the evening to say she was delighted with her, and that she has called her Betsy which is so wonderful. It really made my evening to know how much she loved her.

I made the outfit first.  The little apron is reversible, but I forgot to take a photo of the other side.

I embroidered a little heart on her chest, and obviously her features and crocheted her hair.

I signed her 'posterior'. 

Pantaloons made from some soft muslin that used to be my Mum's.

The dress does up with a little button at the back.

She had a quick wander round our garden with Petunia Creek before she set off for next door.

I really enjoyed making this little doll for my neighbour.

Today I worked on my doll.

A vintage handkerchief was used for her pantaloons.  I haven't decided whether to gather the hems or not yet.

A reversible apron, this is one side...

The other side has a pocket.

Dress and hair.  She was going to have multicoloured hair, but I wasn't happy with it so she ended up with yellow hair instead...still not sure if this will stay or if I will change it.

Her name is Daisy Spring and she is an earth child.

I've enjoyed making these two dolls and very hopeful my mojo has returned properly.
