Advent 2023 - Day Nineteen

 

Welcome to Day Nineteen of the Advent Calendar opening.  The weather is pretty bad today and very dark outside, so the photos are definitely not the best!  

Today Madeline has joined Mary Ellen to open the calendar.

It is up high so Mary Ellen opens it for Madeline

She wonders what will be inside

Oh this looks exciting

A sleigh for the the little horse to pull 

Santa looks pleased and so does Madeline.

So cute.  I wonder what will be next?

Madeline looks rather dishevelled by it all with her

off the shoulder look... oops!

 

Advent 2023 - Day Six

 

Mary Ellen, my lovely 1969 Dungarees Sasha is opening today's door.

She spends a little time looking for it,

not realising it was right beside her at the top of the tree.

She opens it up and takes out the gift.

Oh that looks red and white!

It is Father Christmas!

Mary Ellen is delighted to have Father Christmas in her gift today.

She puts his accessories on

He is ready to go on the little scene with his list of good children.

There he goes.

I wonder what else we will find behind the little windows?

St Patrick's Day Preparation - Part One

Three of the girls have started getting ready for St Patrick's Day by dressing in green.

Mary Ellen & Amber

Mary Ellen is a 1969 Dungarees Sasha by Trendon and she is wearing a smocked gingham dress.

Amber is one of the first Sasha dolls I got, and she came from Shelly of SashaDollsUK which is now sadly closed down.   Amber is a Large Head Yellow Eyed Pony Tail Gotz Sasha from the 1960s and she is wearing a smocked green dress.

Peggy Sue is wearing a party dress I made for her one year, I believe for her birthday party.  

Peggy Sue is a Schoenhut Miss Dolly who was in a bad state of over paint and has been stripped back to her bare wood.

Today we have Mary Ellen, my lovely 1969 Dungarees girl.  

She is so pretty.

Advent 2018 - Day Fourteen

Summer wishes it was still summer as the temperature really has dropped the last couple of days.  Mary-Ellen agrees, but points out if it was, then they wouldn't be opening an Advent Calendar counting down the days to Christmas, so there was at least one thing good about winter!  Summer agrees she has a point.

Mary-Ellen is pleased that it is her turn today.

She spots number 14 and opens the window.

She opens the little door carefully, wondering what is inside.

Oh, a little box.

She thinks it must be a little jewellery box.  

She puts it down by the tree and both girls think how lovely it is all starting to look.

Very festive indeed.  

Wouldn't it be fun to dress up to go to a Ball?  They both think.
