Sunday Summary

Well some of the news is that I started a new Sasha blog - a fresh approach which I am quite excited about.

I've re-vamped my old Etsy Shop and launched the opening this afternoon for the sale of my bears.  The shop 'Kiwi Wight Creations' has the first of my Kiwi Wight Bears listed.  It is still a work in progress.

I have listed my new Sasha summer dresses with little cardigans on my new Sasha blog 'Sasha Haven'   I also listed some Gregor clothing.

During the week I had a new arrival...

It took about a month to arrive, but I was expecting it to take a while.

Ooh I love unwrapping new packages.

A fox!

I've been wanting a Philomena Kloss Bear for a while, and in the end decided on a fox as that is something I am not likely to make myself

I took him out exploring

He helped leave a painted rock.

My brown bear now has a name - Bramble Brown Bear.

I took a couple of new photos.

He helped me make some Gooseberry Jam.

Enjoyed a walk.

Best of all he is a really good cuddler!

Howard helped me leave a rock during the week, which was gone a couple of days later when I next walked that way.

Brown Bear goes Walking

Brown Bear went down to the beach yesterday for some quite time sea gazing.

He found some painted rocks, too big to take home.

Sat and read a book a while.  

Today I finished making jacket for him, as the temperatures have really dropped this last week.

He wore it out exploring today.

He found a rare pre-fabricated Pill box, the only one of its kind on the IOW.

It was very interesting learning about it when he got home.

Tonight he is going to ponder on his name...

Brown Bear

I made a new teddy bear last week.  He is still patiently waiting on a name but has already been out on a couple of outings with me.  He might not be as 'flash' or 'pretty' as some of my others, but he sure is cuddly!  I am looking forward to when I can actually go out and chose fabrics in person and not have to try and guess how accurate the colour is when buying on line, or making do with what I have to hand.  He turned out a lot darker than I had wanted, but I had no choice, so he can be a little difficult to photograph.  However, I really like him and at the end of the day that is the most important thing.  He is definitely a keeper, and I made him for myself, unlike most of the others that will eventually be going in my Etsy Shop.

So introducing.... Brown Bear

His body is un-jointed, and that is how I wanted him. 

Here his nose is a bit crooked so I took it off and sewed it back on.

I took him for a walk the day he was finished.

He has found a zip up sleeveless jacket I made a while ago to wear.

He came with me for a bike ride.

He travelled in style in the basket and couldn't understand what the all the fuss was about....he said it wasn't hard work cycling at all!  Easy for him to say he wasn't trying to push the pedals round on the incline.

Another day he came for another walk.

He found a hedgehog on a post.

Explored an old building

Discovered a very old fireplace in the old ruined building and wondered about who might have lived there.

Enjoyed a walk along the board walk.

Delighted to see we have some peas growing and can't wait to taste them!

Monday Yellow and Blues.

Daisy Spring enjoyed some time out in the garden today.  

She also spent some time with me on my favourite seat while I sat and read while having a cuppa.

Bellamy's wanderings weren't so solitary today...but he was in our garden so that was okay.

Howard said if you have a view of the sea, then you HAVE to have nautical trousers...

So of course I obliged.

Hmmm...what are these creatures he wonders?!

Bailey and Felix enjoyed some time out on the grass overseen by Howard.

Curating a Collection

I still haven't fully refined my goals for my 'Year of Twenty', however, some things are becoming clearer in my mind about where I want my focus to be.  We have been discussing 'Curating a Collection' on a group I am on.

I believe at this stage that a lot of my 'other' dolls will now essentially be leaving, although the process might be slow.  I am now thinking that my group of 'twenty' will be 'any other' dolls that I want to keep apart from my Sasha/Gregor & Schoenhut, who will remain my core group - and I think I will also be pairing down them a bit.  I will be selling all but one of my Course dolls as well.  I will keep my blonde girl with the pigtails/plaits.  This will significantly reduce my collection and I think I will start to enjoy and focus better.  It is very easy to be 'led astray' and go in all sorts of different directions and the last few years it has been a bit like that as I guess in a way I have experimented with what I like and don't like. Although have to say on a whole I like them all!
