An amazing find!

Well yesterday I received a very pleasant surprise when browsing the charity shops in the Sailors town.  Looking through a bundle of toys I spied a familiar looking leg.  It was a Sasha Baby leg!  Pulling the baby out I was even more surprised to see the price tag!  Needless to say there was absolutely no hesitation whatsoever.  What a great Anniversary present!

Yes that is the price!  A mere £1.30!  I've dreamed of finding a Sasha or Gregor doll in a charity shop for years...never did I think I would find one, and whilst 'just' a baby, I am absolutely thrilled.  It really did make my day and I fair skipped back to my son's place.

Today I found something for her to wear.

I'm hoping to make a Christmas outfit...but we discovered a leak in my sewing studio/storage shed and a lot of stuff was sopping wet, so we had to clear that, and sort out all my music that had sustained water damage to try and dry it out.  Of course this now means that I am in even more of a disorganised state as all my music is now up at the house!

I looked up the 'name day' for the 21st December and it was Natalie so I looked up what that meant, and found this:

From the Late Latin name Natalia, which meant "Christmas Day" from Latin natale domini. 

I thought this is probably the perfect name for her, even though it isn't actually Christmas Day yet, it is near enough!

Advent 2019 - Day 21

Henry and the girls are eyeing up the calendar to open it today.

They seem to be taking some time trying to find the right door to open.

Eventually Sophia finds it, so she gets to open it.

She opens it carefully.

I wonder what is in here?  She says as Everlee and Henry look on.

Musical instruments!

She shows them the xylophone.

There is also a little recorder and a guitar.

I'll pop them down here.  She says.

The little elves rush over to sort the instruments out.

This is fun isn't it Henry?  Sophia says.

It sure is. Henry agrees.

Henry walks over to see if the others are having fun.

Everlee and Sophia are in discussion....

It is getting very busy in Santa's workshop, and it is certainly keeping them all amused for hours.

Advent 2019 - Day 20

Peggy Sue asks Nomi if she would like to have a turn at opening the calendar today.

Of course she would!

Peggy Sue puts her hand on Nomi's shoulder in a protective manner as she helps her find the door for today.

Having found it, Nomi opens it up and reaches inside. 

She holds out the package to show Peggy Sue.

They take it out of the package and put it together.

It is a little handcart.

This should be useful for the Elves to transport the toys.

They put it down on the scene.

Was that fun?  Peggy Sue asks Nomi.

It was, Nomi shyly replies.

Advent 2019 - Day 19

Wren explains to Hazel why it MUST be their turn to open the Advent Calendar.  

Hazel listens intently and they agrees.

They both look for today's date.

As Hazel is the tallest she got to open the little door.

She holds out the package to show Wren, who explains the urgency to open it up to see inside!

Hazel is thrilled to find a little sail boat.

The boys will love this.  She says to Wren.

Wren agrees.  

They pop it into the workshop and sit and play awhile.

The Elf looks very proud of the sailboat.

Advent 2019 - Day 18

It must be my turn today Lindsey.  Sienna says.

It is!  Lindsey replies.

Together they look for the number 18

Here it is.  Sienna says excitedly.

She reaches in to find out what is inside.

She pulls it out and holds it up to show Lindsey.

Well open it then.  Lindsey tells her.

Sienna opens the package and holds up a little elf.

Another elf!  Just what they need.  More help in the workshop to make all the toys.

I'm going to pop him down here.  Sienna tells Lindsey.

The new elf meets the other two and they tell him they will show him what needs to be done.

 

Wasn't that fun?  Sienna says to Lindsey.  

She agrees.  They are both getting very excited about Christmas.
