ADAD June Ravelry Challenge - Days 1 - 7

I'm taking part in a photo challenge on one of the Ravelry Groups I belong to at the moment.  I am quite enjoying it as I haven't really been able to take part in the group for ages as I am unable to knit at present (still!)  As it is on the American Girl Doll Knitting group, I chose Mini Julie to take part.

The first seven days are as follows:

June 1 prompt: pick your doll and take her photo. That’s it. Easy peasy, right?

June 2 prompt: Take a photo with your doll and a pet. Any pet, yours, your doll’s, the neighborhood stray…

Julie feeds Bailey and Felix some dandelion leaves.

June 3 prompt: With another doll.

Nancy, Julie and Frog enjoy the hot weather, but have sensibly chosen somewhere in the shade to relax.

June 4 prompt: When you were young. Some ideas - with a picture of you as a child, dressed like you dressed as a child or with something that reminds you of your childhood.

4: Mini AG Julie, meets 'Mini Me, and Mini Michelle (my sister).

I actually did a series of three photos leading up to this one for this prompt.

Excuse me, are you from the seventies?

Why yes?  Who are you?
I'm from the seventies too, my name is Julie.

Hello Julie

June 5 prompt: With a book - on your bookshelf, with a book that has meaning for you, one of your children’s picture books, your doll reading, lots of possibilities here.
I couldn't decide which photo to use, so currently have two!

5b: Julie with my favourite book from my Mum and Dad, given to me on my 10th birthday.

5a: Some of my childhood books.  Just loved these when I was little, as did my boys.  I still think the stories are wonderful.

June 6 prompt: Non-needlework or doll related hobby or collection. If you don’t have one maybe someone in your house does. I’ve heard that three of the same type of items is the beginning of a collection. Just saying.

Nancy shows Julie the Cavy Collection.

June 7 prompt: With a beverage, your favourite

Julie thinks this MUST be my favourite beverage as I drink so much of it...but actually my favourite must be L&P (Lemon and Paeroa)

  1. What fun! My favorite of your interpretations is #3. My favorite prompt would be number three if I was taking part (my absolute favorite drink is any Cola type drink (Pepsi, Coke...-- not diet but can be caffeine free). I've cut it out of my diet and haven't had any for about two months. I still miss it and would love to have a good excuse to have one.

    1. Hi Julie, thanks so much for your lovely comment and also for visiting my blog :) I only have L&P when I go to NZ, which is probably a good thing! I hope that you have started to feel better with your diet and cutting out Cola.

  2. That sounds like a really fun little challenge. The pic of the "mini Me's" next to the original of you and your sister is so adorable! It's nice that you kept your childhood books.

    1. Thanks Steve. I think you may have read my post about my childhood books on my other blog...fortunately drying these out in the airing cupboard did help somewhat, although the cover of my Black Beauty book is now somewhat damaged sadly, but glad I still have them. It was fun making those outfits back in 2013 - the hunt for the orange fabric was quite the challenge though! I think I still have some barbie clothes made from the remnants of the blouses Mum made us.

  3. Mini Julie seems to have a very good time taking part in that challenge. She is very brave - to her, Bailey and Felix must look like giant monsters!

    1. Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment, it is always very much appreciated :-) Mini Julie is having a lot of fun. She said it makes up for when I took her to NZ and left her in a drawer the whole time I was there! Yes very brave to face the giant Guinea pigs!
