Peggy Sue's New Doll

Peggy Sue is thrilled with her new little bedpost doll made by the lovely Astrid whom we have had several dolls from.

This little doll was a gift and Peggy Sue feels so lucky to have her.

She is making the most of the lovely sunshine we have had today.

Fortunately she doesn't feel the cold, as it is still a bit chilly!

We Won a Giveaway!

In April I entered a fun giveaway on Instagram never expecting to win as my track record of ever winning anything is well pretty bad...but my luck was to change and I won.  I was so thrilled.

A lovely package of goodies arrived.

A beautiful card

All gifts were wrapped so prettily.

Rose was excited as the giveaway was geared towards Smart Dolls and MSD

Lovely hand written card.
.

First package contained something for Rose to wear.

Love this little school uniform type outfit, complete with headband.

A shirt for a male smart doll...I have an excuse to get one now if they ever produce them again!

What a fun little drawers.

Shall we see what is inside them.

Some very fancy shoes!

These shoes were also handmade by the talented Mimi who sent them.

These are MSD size, so I guess one day I will have to get a doll to fit them ;-)  but in the meantime they look great as display items.

Also included was a bag from the Mirai Store in Tokyo.

What a lovely lot of goodies.

Rose looks good in her little outfit.

A big huge thanks to the generosity of Mimi who can be found on Instagram @moomoo_mt

I love these gifts so very much and feel so lucky to have won them.

A Lovely Gift.

Look Peggy Sue a card and present for us and rest of the gang.  Henry said.

Ooh, I wonder who it can be from?  Peggy Sue asks.

Henry opens the card.

It is a welcome to our new home card.  He tells Peggy Sue.  It is from the Gregoropolis Kids.  How wonderful!

You can open the present Peggy Sue.  Henry says as he hands it to her to open.

Thank you Henry.

Oh look a really lovely bird book.  Peggy Sue says as she shows Henry.

What a super book.  Henry replies as he has a flip through the pages.  Full of wise sayings and poetry.

I bet Francis will also like this, as he is into poetry and stuff...

Thank you all at Gregoropolis for thinking of us.

Henry waves, and Peggy Sue blows a kiss...then has a bit of a thought, hence her slightly anxious expression, that she might have embarrassed the boys there!  Never mind Peggy Sue, boys are meant to be embarrassed every now and again.

My Tiny Rag Doll Swap

A friend in the USA and I decided a while back to do a Tiny Rag Doll swap.  We didn't set any deadlines as we both had other things going on.  I finally finished mine and packaged her and her clothes up ready to post on 17th September.   I've just heard she arrived today.  Always a relief to know the doll has arrived safely.

I wanted to make her clothes using NZ wool and fabrics as much as possible, and was quite pleased with the end result.  Her hair caused me a bit of consternation, but I wanted it to be different to any of hers and I think I achieved that.

Here she is wearing one of her little outfits.

A pair of undies to protect her modesty.

Her hair from the back.

The outfits I made:

They can be mixed and matched.

Of course she is a tea drinker, so needed to take a cup of tea and saucer along on her journey.

You can't really see her nose in the above picture!

She chose to wear this skirt and top for the journey

and added a shawl to keep her warm.

She has a bit of ‘flavour’ from New Zealand and the Isle of Wight, Hertfordshire and Northumberland.

Her variegated green t-shirt and shawl are knitted with Pure NZ Merino, Alpaca and Possum wool.

Her brown t-shirt and shawl are knitted with vintage NZ wool that my friend gave me.  It belonged to her aunt.

The variegated purple dress is knitted with Pure NZ Merino, Alpaca and Possum wool.

I think the purple shawl is also knitted with vintage wool from my friend in NZ.

The flowery skirt is made from some fabric I bought from a charity shop in the little town near where my Mum’s home is.

The linen skirt is made from some fabric scraps I bought from a charity shop local to me.

The orange t shirt is knitted from some wool that I was sent for my birthday and comes from Whistlebare in Northumberland and is a fine natural yarn.  I believe they have a website.

The orange skirt and the green skirt are made from some NZ cotton prints I bought in Whangarei.

She comes with her cup of tea and a saucer as she is a great tea drinker, and a puzzle that I bought in Kerikeri when there earlier this year.

She was sewn while I was staying in the Isle of Wight.

Her hair was fine mohair pre-spun wool roving from NZ.

Her shoes are made from NZ felted natural wool.

Peggy Sue and a Clothes Rail

A lovely friend sent this to Peggy Sue at the beginning of the week....prompting a 'I didn't buy anything' discussion with DH when it arrived!

Peggy Sue loves it thank you.  She just needs to find some new coat hangers now!  Oh and I am sure she will probably want some new clothes....I've told her she will have to wait until her birthday!

A Gift and Kindness.

We were sent this cute little doll in the weekend, and it was going to be for Everlee Rose, however, she came across Lewis sitting by himself.

What's up Lewis?  She asks.

Oh, I don't know, he says... I think I feel a little lonely at times.

You shouldn't feel lonely here.  She says.

I tell you what, why don't you have this special little doll that was sent to us by Mummy's lovely friend Aunty Lel?

Really?  Lewis asks.

Of course.  She says and he reaches up for it.

Everlee gives Lewis the little doll and he immediately hugs it and gives it a kiss.

Everlee watches on with a warm feeling inside.

She can see she has made him really happy.

I'm going to take him to bed with me every night.

Lewis tells her as he lays his head next to the little doll.

You'll have to think of a name for him now.  Everlee Rose tells Lewis.

Don't forget to write Aunty Lel, a thank you letter Lewis.  Everlee Rose says.

A little later Lewis is seen sitting on the settee still cuddling his new doll.

I have someone I can tell all my special secret thoughts to now.  He thinks to himself.

I wonder what he will name this sweet little doll?

A big thank you to Lel for thinking of us, and sending this little treasure.  You have made us all very happy and especially Lewis.
