Creative Week 31

Mainly a bit of sewing on the creative front this week, although not a lot.

A dress for Wren.  I wanted to make her a Christmas themed dress...so not really sure why I chose this fabric, seems, I now need to make her an ACTUAL Christmas dress, or so I have been informed anyway!

I've had this cloth kit Daisy Kingdom fabric for some time now so thought I would finally make up the dress.

It seemed to big for the American Girl dolls and my Daisy Kingdom doll is currently packed away so I tried it on Linda.  I'm glad it turned out too big for the American Girl dolls, as it looks great on Linda and fits her well.

I had another cloth kit fabric so I made that up as well.

It fits Sienna Saige beautifully.

I've still got to sew up the little Scottie dog and the bag which I will probably do this coming week.

I've done some knitting and sewing for a Hitty Group challenge, but can't show those yet.

I made this bear last week, but couldn't show him until this week once I had given him to my friend for Christmas.  Yes we gave  (and opened) our presents early!.

I was thrilled to watch the expression on her face when she opened him.  Reactions like that make the creative process of making a gift all the more worth while.

She has named him Leonard.

I am hoping to make some Christmas gifts this week....that is the goal anyway...whether or not I achieve them is another matter!

Creative Week 22

My creative week was going really well until Thursday night, when I wrenched my shoulder lifting it up as I was knitting to loosen some more yarn off the ball.  So now I am on enforced rest, which is really frustrating.

I achieved my aim of knitting at least one larger doll set.  I made another set for Gregor/Schoenhut boys, this time in a lighter brown.  This set is ready to purchase if anyone is interested and consists of Cardigan, Cap and Variegated Socks.

Henry and Lewis model the set to show the fit.  They are both 16 inches tall.

I have made quite a few tiny clothes, adding to Clipper's Mix n Match Wardrobe.

A reversible apron with pockets that match her two dresses.

A couple of skirts

Some more shawls, definitely needed now it is getting colder.

A little crochet top which led to me making a skirt to match...

and then a little felt jacket...

...and a new pair of boots to match the jacket - because you just have to you know.

Love this set on her, and really pleased with how it turned out.  I am enjoying Clipper very much and have all sorts of ideas for her.

I sewed some more doll bodies and limbs together, so now they are waiting patiently for features and wigs.

Clipper announced she needed a red jacket, and as I couldn't knit but could manage a little gentle hand sewing I made this for her.  Not quite sure how I am going to incorporate it into her Mix n Match wardrobe, but she did point out to me it has green stitching and a green button.  I have (I hope) an oak leaf button SOMEWHERE safe, that I would like to sew on to the jacket.  If I can't find that I might embroider either a leaf or a flower on to it instead.

A blue dress for one of the other TRDs who are currently being made.

A pumpkin, this time a lighter green.

A green dress for Martha.

So another wonderfully productive week.

Coming soon...

I have decided that I really do need to downsize more of my dolls and props, so hoping to list quite a few this coming week.  They will be good prices as they need to go asap. Plus the quicker they go, the less I have to dwell on the parting with them!

I am also negotiable on all the items on my For Sale page, so please do ask if anyone is interested in anything.

Creative Week 21

Tiny Knitting seems to have been the predominant focus this week. Little knit dresses and tops have been rolling off the needles.  However I have done some 'bigger' knitting, and aim to complete at least one set of Sasha/Gregor/Schoenhut clothing each week from now on.

I had a request for a boys set, so knitted this lovely cardigan, cap and socks with some of my fabulous NZ yarn. The cardigan and cap is knitted with the NZ Rare Breeds Arapawa Merino wool and is just so lovely.  Lewis wants to keep it but I had to explain it was for an order.

On to the tiny knitting:

Underpants for the lot of tiny dolls that are currently being made.

Lyra hat for the colder weather.

A couple hats:  White above, and variegated green below which is Clipper's favourite so far.

Got to have a bright 'sunshine' dress.

I also crocheted a green pumpkin - part of Martha's 100 Day Challenge, the page of which has been updated today.

I've also done some sewing

I made Clipper some skirts, a dress, apron and bedding (shown in previous post).

Dress and bloomers (which can't really be seen)

Some skirts to go with the little knit tops, which are currently part of my newest project - to make Clipper a Mix n Match wardrobe.

A reversible apron.  One side has an oversize pocket for carrying all those necessary things.

and finally my favourite item, which has to be Clipper's little felt coat.
