Now the school/summer holiday crowds have gone home, it is time to start exploring the island again.
We have been here before, but Wren hasn't so she was excited to wander around Mottistone Gardens, a National Trust property.
There were a lot of lovely flowers for her to admire.
Little nooks and crannies to sit and just enjoy the weather and beauty of the gardens.
She strolled around the footpaths
Stopped to say hello to a pig in the raised vegetable beds.
Smelt the herbs
Had a shock at the giant spider she spied in the window
Said hello to a flower pot creature.
Sat a while
Read about the mining bees
Posed on a post
Balanced on a round concrete ball
Stood on a fence post
and waved to passers by
Rested on a tree.
What a great afternoon it was. A really beautiful garden well worth a visit.
