Creative Week 18

Another productive Creative week.

I finished Maude

The third elephant in my 'Three Elephants' project.

Martha, Mavis and Maude.

Mavis and Maude are now on their way to NZ to my Mum and Sister.  I can't wait to hear whether my sister likes her and whether my Mum will recognise what it is and like it or not. I am guessing she probably won't anymore, but at the very least the elephant can sit in her room (and hopefully not go awol as is want to happen in dementia units a fair bit)

As mentioned in a previous post I repaired Delphine's hair and made her some shoes.

I continued working on Martha's World and have set up a page for the daily updates.  That can be found here:  100 Days of Martha the Elephant's World.

I made her a pretty coral dress with the lovely 50p bargain wool I got from a local CS.

I also made her a 'Blue Hues' dress from some of the left over yarn from making the dresses for the American Girl and other dolls, previous years.

I made Martha a little cat:

As the weather is cooling down quite a bit I made Martha a little variegated yellow cardigan.

It is a lovely fit and she is very pleased with it.

I've been making tiny underwear, and also wig making for my tiny little dolls, but they can't be shown yet,  I'm also currently working on a chair for Martha, but it is not ready to be photographed yet.

Making Coathangers

In working on Martha's World, I am aiming to use what I have to hand rather than buying things. I thought we had some large paper clips, but unfortunately I only had a couple, so did have to buy some more, but managed to get a container of them for £1 from Sainsburys so figured that wasn't too much to spend.

Paperclips and tools to hand.

I bent the shorter part of the paperclip up.

I then bent the other long part up to make a triangle.

With some pliers I bent a hook and then clipped a bit off with the wire cutters

A very simple coat hanger that does the job!

Creative Week 17

I've had quite a creative week, AND I've started to feel better too...long may it last! I have had about four good days in a row now!  I do have to go for a blood test on Monday and my biopsy results on Tuesday, but hopefully all is good.

I finished the bear I was making for my husband's birthday

He is a nice handful.

I made him shorts and a sweater.

He met Martha and she thought he was a lovely fellow

Barnaby Bear.

I made a pair of dungarees for Martha.  Plus a 'T Shirt' to go under them:

Here she is wearing them while she inspects the progress of 'Maude' the third elephant in the series I am making.

I have also made her another little dress:

A cactus

A basket of strawberries and a cup, saucer and plates.

These accessories are part of a new 'project/challenge' I have started:  100 Days of Martha the Elephant's World.

This little case is part of my '100 Days of Martha's World' project.  So far I have 'laid' the flooring and wallpapered the back wall.  The table is made from a coaster I made just before I hit my teens.  I have used velcro to join the two pieces together so that if I ever want it to revert back to a coaster I can.  The four little flowers will eventually be the hooks for her to hang her clothes on.

The project will consist of spending a least 15 minutes each day crafting or working on something for Martha (or her friends) and taking a photograph each day.  I will set up a separate page for the 100 day photos.  I'm currently at Day Seven.

This coming week I hope to work on my two tiny rag dolls that are currently sitting in my work basket and to finish the clothing for the other four.
