Fashion on Friday

Madeline thought it would be appropriate to show off her boot collection today for the 'Fashion on Friday' posting.

She has amassed quite an array of colours!

There is one colour in particular she would like to add to this collection when/if they become available and that is a pair of purple boots...because all discerning doll fashionista must have a pair of purple boots!

I still haven't done any sewing, although do have some projects planned and am hoping to make a start on those next week.  These projects include the Mini AG/Doll SAL/KAL on Ravlery - I am going to be making a little wardrobe for a Madeline doll for a friends's daughter in New Zealand.

I would like to join in with one of the Bleuette Sewing Challenges and Hitty - I need to catch up with both these groups as have fallen WAY behind.

My priority though will probably be designing and making a collection for Lewis...I have a few ideas and need to do some research.

I have done some knitting though.

A vest knitted with some of my favourite NZ Merino, Possom and Alpaca Wool, this time in a green which I think suits him really well.

Of course he needed a cap.

Plus some socks.  He has borrowed a pair of shorts from the Gregor lads to show of his socks.

I've knitted a sweater which Donny is making.  This may go in my Etsy shop.

Plus I added some owls to the vest pattern.

This time in the Arapawa fleece I have.

Albert also got a new cardigan/jacket.  The first thing I have made for him, so he was pretty pleased.

A few other things were knitted - some flowers - I test knitted a pattern for these and another jacket not shown here.

Monday: Show & Tell

The other week Henry and Peggy Sue were delighted to receive a little package from their friends at Gregoropolis and today Henry showed his friends, Donny, Rory and the new lad Lewis.

He read the postcard out to them.

'Dear Peggy Sue & Henry,
This lighthouse was one of the many interesting places we visited on our trip along Minnesota's North Shore of Lake Superior...'

Why is it called Lake Superior?  Rory asks.

Does it mean it is more superior to other Lakes?  Donny also asks.

Well if you listen to me read the rest, you might understand a bit more, I haven't finished yet.  Henry tells them and continues:

"The North Shore is a big deal for Minnesotans. probably because in our land-locked state, it is the closest thing we have to an ocean...."

But that doesn't really explain WHY it is called Lake Superior.  Rory says.

Well perhaps it is because it is the Largest of the Great Lakes of North America.  Lewis informs them, having come from the USA and having a bit more knowledge of American than these lads do.

It is the largest freshwater lake by volume in North American and in fact it is so big it is the third largest freshwater lake by volume in the world!

That is pretty impressive the boys agree.

This is the lighthouse that Benjamin Roy, Pete and Stephen Orange visited.  Looks pretty cool doesn't it.  Henry says.

The boys look at the second post card Henry shows them that the boys also sent.

They think it might be a good idea if they start a postcard collection album.

What else have you got there Henry?  Lewis asks.

This is a piece of Agate from Lake Superior.  Henry tells him.

I am so excited to have this, I am going to put it with my special mineral and rock collection.

Thanks so much to Benjamin Roy, Pete, Stephen Orange and of course their Daddies, John and Steve. Henry says.

Peggy Sue also got to read the postcards, but agreed that Henry could do a 'Show and Tell' about them.  She was also happy for Henry to keep the Agate as she knows he very much wanted to put it with his pieces of rock from Sedona National Park, Montezuma's Castle and his piece of rock from the Grand Canyon.

FOR SALE - STUDIO DOLL

As I have mentioned before I am selling my gorgeous Sasha Studio Doll.  I have been told that she is quite an early doll dating from 1946 - 1952 in part because she has realistically molded ears and other characteristics.  She is a BIII Studio doll, type 3 head, type B Body.   She has a beautiful wistful pensive face and expression.  Her hair is human hair, but I don't know if it is original to her or not, I suspect it is probably is.  It is believed that her underwear and dress is original but her extra clothes were probably added later.  The cape may also have been original?

She is by no means perfect, so if you are looking for a 'perfect' studio doll then she is not for you.  She has 'history' to her and there are several theories as to what this is.  Please contact me via email if interested.  I am currently working out a ball park region for what I would like for her, but don't feel frightened to offer a realistic price.  I can either say 'yes, no, or let's negotiate'.  I have not followed the trends of what these dolls are worth since I bought her in 2015, but I would like to at least cover the cost of her purchase.

I have included lots of photos below so you can assess whether you are seriously interested or not and I have more photos available.
