A Doll a Day in April: Day Nine - Kiwi Sindy

My doll for today is Kiwi Sindy.  She is special to me as I found her in a charity shop in NZ in 2019, the last time I went to visit my parents.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to after that due to the restrictions put in place, and then I had terrible back pain, and then I wasn't well enough.

I found her with a Robin Rive bear in Huntley.

She was quite the mess.

I gave her a good wash and knitted an outfit for her while there, and bought a felted hat and boots from a craft fair.

Here she is at my Mum & Dad's place.

Today she is sitting in the garden admiring the flowers and enjoying the lovely weather.

 

A Doll a Day in April: Day Eight - Crissy

Well I hadn't planned on Crissy being my doll for today, but I finished a dress last night and it didn't fit the doll I had planned for it, so I thought I would try it on Crissy and it fits great.  So she is a happy girl to have a new dress.

She just needs some shoes now!

 

A Doll a Day in April: Day Seven - Lewis Schoenhut.

My doll for today is Lewis.   He is finally going to get changed out of his green outfit that he has been wearing for cough cough, at least a year!  He has his big trunk of clothes to look through.

He has a lot of warm winter clothing!

Such a wonderful boy he is.

He has chosen some brown themed items.  He is wearing is owl tanktop/vest for the colder mornings and evenings.

Love this boy.

He likes to be adventurous!

Pretty in Pink

And a 'just because' post of my dear Peggy Sue.

I made her a new dress and a little short sleeve cardigan.

She is very pleased to be getting some attention after such a long time.

I think she looks so pretty in this.  

I don't think I have dressed her much in pink before, but it suits her.

 

A Doll A Day in April: Day Six - Smart Doll Rose Resilient

Just a couple of photos today as I wasn't happy with the others. 

I changed Rose's wig back to the one she arrived in originally.  

I think she looks okay in it.

She is a lovely doll, but I think I prefer the smaller and more child like dolls such as Sasha, Schoenhut, and even smaller. 

A Doll a Day for April: Day Five - Little 11 inch Schoenhut

 

Today's doll is my little 11 inch Schoenhut doll.  I bought a load of shoes form Aliexpress for what I thought would be my Makie dolls, but they were way too big despite me measuring and rechecking several times.  I didn't think I had any dolls that they would fit, but the fit this little girl, so although a bit 'modern' for her, they work well, just the straps needed trimming or cutting off completely.

She is wearing what I think is a bleuette dress I made, I can't remember who I originally made the dress for.

She looks cute in it, and here you get a glimpse of the shoe.  I bought several different colours, so I guess I ought to get cracking and make some clothes to match the shoes!

She is such a petite little thing.

A Doll A Day for April: Day Four - Saige

 Today's doll of the day is my beautiful Saige.  You can read about her arrival in 2013 here: An Amazing Surprise

Here she is wearing her 'Meet' outfit.  She is Girl of the Year 2013.

I changed her into this dress I knitted quite a few years ago in 2017.

The colours bring out the blue in her eyes.

Here she is looking pretty in the garden.

This doll is very special to me as she was a completely unexpected surprise from my son for my birthday all the those years ago.

A Doll A Day for April: Day Three - Everlee Rose Morgan

Today's doll for today is Everlee Rose Morgan, my 1970s Sasha.

She is one of my favourite Sasha dolls...but shhh don't tell the rest.

The garden is looking pretty

So is Everlee Rose.

She has such a lovely face.

I don't know who made her outfit as it was given to me.

But she looks good in it.

 

A Doll A Day for April: Day Two - Chrissa/Chrissy

Chrissa or as I call her Chrissy is a Girl of the Year American Girl from 2009.

She is wearing a dress I knitted 12 years ago. 

I changed her into something brighter for the spring, another knitted dress.

She is so cute.
