Clipper

I'm having a lot of fun with my newest little TRD (Tiny Rag Doll).  Her wardrobe has been added to, and I am starting to make and collect little accessories for her.

On Monday morning we went out with the local walking group and she enjoyed a nice walk in the fresh air.  She wore a shawl to keep her warm, but the temperature was quite mild and we missed the rain that started not long after we got back.

She met Reginald Rabbit and chatted for a while.

Nancy welcomed her into the fold.

Last night I made her a jacket and this morning a more autumnal themed hat and she dashed outside.

It is a bit wet out, so she just went out briefly for a quick photo - not the best!

I'm going to make a little travel pouch for her hopefully this week as she will need one I am pretty certain of that!

I'm also currently working on her back story and need to update up Tiny Rag Doll Making Journal.  I am quite behind on that!

Monday Moments.

So this morning not content with Clipper's little linen skirt I shortened and narrowed it and it is a better fit now.

I finished a little dress I started last night, and made a pair of lace up green shoes and she came out on a walk with me today.

She looks completely at one with nature.

Luckily we got out before the rain started!

Creative Week 20

Two new dresses have been added to Martha's wardrobe, although the first one she won't be getting until December...if she doesn't discover it before then!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I knitted Mini AG Kit a little red cardigan that will also go with her dress.
Peggy Sue was delighted when she saw me pick up some larger needles Friday evening.
She couldn't wait to try it on and go out in the garden for a photograph.  It matches her dress very well.
I've been working on some more Tiny Rag dolls and have finished one of them, who you can read about here:  Clipper a Tiny Rag Doll
I also knitted Martha a cardigan.
Clipper, a Tiny Rag Doll
Yesterday I dyed one of my Tiny Rag Doll bodies that I had just sewn in some tea.
It looked very dark when I first took it out.
but did dry a lighter colour.  Sorry I forgot to take a photo before I started turning inside out.
The straw is one of those 'recyclable' straws and is the perfect tool for turning things inside out.  The best I have had for these dolls.
I have felt quite rough today after a really good week, so have mainly sat, sewn and knitted today.
Limbs stuffed.
Head and necked partially stuffed ready to sew the arms on.
#
Arms sewn on, and then I stuff some more of the body.
Legs sewn on.
I sew one leg first then add more stuffing, then sew the front of the second leg, add more stuffing and then finish off.
Trying a wig I had crocheted a few days ago for size.
I like it, so will use this wig.
I embroidered her face and then sewed her hair into place.  I forgot to take a photo of this next step.
A little summer top made - yes even though it is the end of summer, I have wanted to make this for ages.  I have used some of the fabric I got from a charity shop in NZ when I was there.
I knitted her a little top and also sewed her some bloomers and a matching skirt to go with the dress.
I also knitted a pair of underwear for her.
This time I made her removable shoes.  I need to make some more of different colours, but I started with the pink
Skirt and top, with bloomers and shoes.
This skirt I dyed in the beetroot water I had left over from boiling the home grown beetroot yesterday.
It is a little long on her, she turned out smaller than I expected.  I am guessing the fabric shrunk a bit when being dyed.
Back of little top and skirt.
Complete outfits so far.  Not bad for a day's work.
A Couple of Outings.
The weather has been fabulous this week, and today and yesterday Martha got to visit a couple of places for the first time.  Today Nancy, Lucy and Rose also came along and they declared the gardens just perfect.
Yesterday Martha enjoyed a walk around Wrest Park, once of our favourite places to visit, as it is relatively close and easy to get to.  She is pleased to be getting out and about a little bit.
Today we visited the Celebration and Dahlia gardens in St Albans.
Martha was delighted to find some pumpkins!
She admired the Dahlias up close and personal.
Sat amongst the flowers
Laid back and relaxed to the hum of bees.
Nancy hasn't been out for a while so she was pleased to get some time in a beautiful garden as well.
Rose and Lucy joined in and had fun too.
Rose thought this Dahlia matched her beautifully, and I think she is quite right!
Another productive week.
I made a couple of necklaces, one for Martha and one for a friend of hers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Six little shawls - I can't show all of them yet, nor with them on the dolls,  so you'll have to take my word they look really cute on them.

I made her a tiny bear to go in one of the pockets.

Quite a lot of the Tiny Doll knitting was done this weekend.  Some while we were up at my DIL's yesterday afternoon and the rest today while sitting out in the garden enjoying the fabulous weather.

It has been a good productive week and I am pleased I have achieved the goals I set for myself.
