A Doll A Day in April: Day Six - Smart Doll Rose Resilient

Just a couple of photos today as I wasn't happy with the others.

I changed Rose's wig back to the one she arrived in originally.

I think she looks okay in it.

She is a lovely doll, but I think I prefer the smaller and more child like dolls such as Sasha, Schoenhut, and even smaller.

Dressmaking for Smart Dolls

My friend has recently bought herself a smart doll so I thought I would make a little wardrobe for her doll.

I made a pair of denim jeans and a pink off the shoulder t shirt.

A yellow t shirt

A bee dress

and a little necklace

I posted the parcel off at the beginning of the week and she is really happy with her new wardrobe.

I had such fun putting it together for her.

We Won a Giveaway!

In April I entered a fun giveaway on Instagram never expecting to win as my track record of ever winning anything is well pretty bad...but my luck was to change and I won.  I was so thrilled.

A lovely package of goodies arrived.

A beautiful card

All gifts were wrapped so prettily.

Rose was excited as the giveaway was geared towards Smart Dolls and MSD

Lovely hand written card.
.

First package contained something for Rose to wear.

Love this little school uniform type outfit, complete with headband.

A shirt for a male smart doll...I have an excuse to get one now if they ever produce them again!

What a fun little drawers.

Shall we see what is inside them.

Some very fancy shoes!

These shoes were also handmade by the talented Mimi who sent them.

These are MSD size, so I guess one day I will have to get a doll to fit them ;-)  but in the meantime they look great as display items.

Also included was a bag from the Mirai Store in Tokyo.

What a lovely lot of goodies.

Rose looks good in her little outfit.

A big huge thanks to the generosity of Mimi who can be found on Instagram @moomoo_mt

I love these gifts so very much and feel so lucky to have won them.

Shades of yellow, such a happy colour.

So the first week is over - each block of themes is for five days only, with two days off.

Three Weeks of Doll Photography - Day One & Day Two

I'm taking part in a three week photo challenge which should be fun.

Day 1: Pink.  Rose isn't really sure she does 'pink' but wanted to take part in the challenge so she found some various pink items to use....  a pink quilt, sheepskin rug from NZ, a pink duck, pig and hedgehog, rabbit and a pink ice-cream!

Day 2:  Purple.  Sitting amongst the pretty purple flowers on a light purple Adirondack chair holding her purple bag with a rather large purple hair clip in her hair wearing her pretty dress with purple flowers.

Some More Dressmaking for Rose

I caught Rose just as she was about to eat her sandwich... she is wearing the new t shirt I have made her.

I'm reasonably pleased with how it turned out, although the fabric was a bit too thin for my liking, but I am using what I have to hand.

I also made her some leggings...

...which are a nice fit.

Next I made her a skirt.

Front view.

Back view.

I'm really enjoying making things for her.

So pretty.

Next I made her a hoodie...but realised I didn't have any open ended zips apart from one short dark green one.  The hoodie is in turquoise, and the zipper wasn't long enough, so that has been put aside for now until I can get a zipper for it.  Fortunately I did have some dark green fleece so I made a shorter green hoodie so I could use the green zipper I had.

This will keep her nice and warm.

On a whole pretty pleased with how it turned out, although would make the sleeves shorter next time.
