ADAD June Ravelry Challenge - Days 1 - 7

I'm taking part in a photo challenge on one of the Ravelry Groups I belong to at the moment.  I am quite enjoying it as I haven't really been able to take part in the group for ages as I am unable to knit at present (still!)  As it is on the American Girl Doll Knitting group, I chose Mini Julie to take part.

The first seven days are as follows:

June 1 prompt: pick your doll and take her photo. That’s it. Easy peasy, right?

June 2 prompt: Take a photo with your doll and a pet. Any pet, yours, your doll’s, the neighborhood stray…

 Julie feeds Bailey and Felix some dandelion leaves.

June 3 prompt: With another doll.

Nancy, Julie and Frog enjoy the hot weather, but have sensibly chosen somewhere in the shade to relax.

June 4 prompt: When you were young. Some ideas - with a picture of you as a child, dressed like you dressed as a child or with something that reminds you of your childhood.

4: Mini AG Julie, meets 'Mini Me, and Mini Michelle (my sister).

I actually did a series of three photos leading up to this one for this prompt.

Excuse me, are you from the seventies?

Why yes?  Who are you?
I'm from the seventies too, my name is Julie.

Hello Julie

June 5 prompt: With a book - on your bookshelf, with a book that has meaning for you, one of your children’s picture books, your doll reading, lots of possibilities here.
I couldn't decide which photo to use, so currently have two!

5b: Julie with my favourite book from my Mum and Dad, given to me on my 10th birthday.

5a: Some of my childhood books.  Just loved these when I was little, as did my boys.  I still think the stories are wonderful.

June 6 prompt: Non-needlework or doll related hobby or collection. If you don’t have one maybe someone in your house does. I’ve heard that three of the same type of items is the beginning of a collection. Just saying.

Nancy shows Julie the Cavy Collection.

June 7 prompt: With a beverage, your favourite

  Julie thinks this MUST be my favourite beverage as I drink so much of it...but actually my favourite must be L&P (Lemon and Paeroa)

Admiring her bookcase

So, Little Owen, what do you think?  Peggy Sue asks as she shows Little Owen her bookcase set up in her room.

It is looking pretty good.  Little Owen agrees.  I think a book is missing though...

Little Owen looks intently for HIS MOST IMPORTANT book.

Yes, it is definitely missing.  He thinks to himself.

I think it must be over by the toy box where you were last reading it.  Peggy Sue informs him.  We will put it in the bookcase later.

Peggy Sue just can't stop looking at her bookcase and thinks it might also be a good place for her to display some of her shell collection.

Now she has to decide whether she is going to paint it, varnish it, or leave it as it is, but that will have to wait until April.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This bookcase is really special as it is very similar to one my Dad made me when I would have been a similar age to Peggy Sue.  Dad made mine from all wood, but it would have been a similar similar siaze and proportion to me as this is to her.   My Mum and Dad still have it - Mum incorporated it into a side wall divider unit she built years ago.  I must take a photo of it while I am over there.
A very big thank you to DollMum for helping to make this vision and dream into a reality.  It really does mean a lot to me as I was an avid reader as a young child (we had no television, and actually still don't and as such I still read a lot)  and books were very important to me.
Catching up with Tui
Tui is a very relaxed girl and can often be found in various 'chillaxed' poses as she calls them.
She is a very cheerful girl with a not a worry in the world.
She likes day dreaming...
Playing with her wooden animals...
Reading...
Reading....
...and more reading!
This must be a very good book as she has been totally absorbed in it most of the day!
