Madeline's Home

Okay, so Madeline is featuring a lot lately, not only because she is cute, but because I am currently not very well and she is small enough to enjoy without having to go to a lot of effort.

I was super lucky enough to win a job lot of furniture for her the other day and she is delighted to be able to 'set up house'  Eventually I hope to build (find) something more suitable for her, but these two shelves will do in the meantime.

There are still a few items I would like to find to make these little sets that much more complete.  The refrigerator and the toilet for starters!

She has hung up a couple of her dresses in her wardrobe - that is another thing we need to fin, more coat hangers!

She admires herself in her mirror.

At last she has a comfy corner to read one of her favourite books.

Later in the afternoon Poppy comes round.

They chat about what Madeline is reading and Madeline suggests she stays for afternoon tea.

Sharing afternoon tea with a friend is always a good thing.

  1. The furniture is really cute and nicely detailed. I've seen the matching house and it's nice, but I think you could make something just as nice yourself, and it could be a fun little project. I dream of making a little "clubhouse" for the boys, but at Sasha scale that would take up a fair amount of room.

    1. When we move I hope to make a Gregor/Sasha size 'house' I have some ideas, just not the space at the moment.

This in the meantime will be a fun little project. :)

  2. It's great that you got some of the furniture. I wish we would see more of that from other companies. Get well soon!

    1. Very lucky to get it here I think. Someone has a listing on at the moment for basically the same stuff and they are asking £300 - I think they are having a laugh!

  3. more coat-hangers - you can make some out of aluminium wire and if you want them to be prettier then cover them in fabric (it will also stop the clothes sliding off them).

  5. I have 2 doll houses and all the furniture, including the school room, sitting in my attic. You're beginning to inspire me to do something with it all. I add here that I hope you'll feel better very soon!

  6. Wow TWO empty shelves - I'm envious! I'm bugging my husband to have another rack fixed, but it takes its time...
Madeline's furniture is so cute, and how great Poppy can visit there.

    1. Ha ha, only empty because I packed away everything else that was on them!

The furniture is fun. I might paint it, not sure yet.
